Welcome to Kotex Blog!!!

Kotex is a Social Independent Foudation which was started by some people living and affected by HIV.  Kotex is a non-governmental and non-profit organization whose mission is to facilitate people with HIV and affected in improving the quality of life and empowerment of people with HIV and affected to have the same rights and opportunities as citizens,supporting the independence of people with HIV and affected by the knowledge and skills.(You can learn more from "profile" and "our programe" on the blog)

Kotex is supported by other foundations and institutions like Global Fund. We have three programes now in Jakarta and Banten province. We have 62 staff in Jakarta and 25 staff in Banten province. Our headquarters is in Jakarta where programe director and financial administrator work. Kotex provides services to PLWHA through their staff and several peer support groups in different areas. Field coordinators in each area report to Kotex monthly about what they did and how they used fund and Kotex must report to supporting foundations and institutions.

We have supported more than 5,000 people living and affected by HIV. We provide them services of counseling, home visiting, testing, referrals and other services. Although our power is limited, we believe we can make our country better. Everybody should join in prevetion and treatment of HIV and give more care, support to people living with HIV/AIDS. We need your support and you can make the world better!!!

How do you know about HIV/AIDS?

Maybe you think HIV/AIDS is far away from your life. Most people with HIV also think of so but not until they know they are infected with HIV. Some people may have prejudice and discrimination, and lots of people are scary of HIV and PLWHA. Discrimination and fear come from ignorance.

So it is quite necessarry to know about HIV/AIDS. We can not only protect ourselves but also others from being infected with HIV. We can have right attitude on HIV and PLWHA . If we are infected with HIV unfortunately, we can know how to fight with it and get more motivation. So this blog will inform you as much about HIV/AIDS as possible, Also you can see how we such as Kotex do to help these people in Indonesia.
